The women’s soccer team returned home after a stretch of games on the road Wednesday evening against the Tabor College Blue Jays. Southwestern snapped a 10 game losing streak, but failed to pull out the win, tying the Blue Jays 0-0. The tie brought the Builders record to 1-10-1 on the season and 0-3-1 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Both teams played even statistically as the Builders got off 17 shots compared to Tabor’s 15. Maddie Chapin, freshman defender, and Nicole Resa, freshman midfielder, each shot four times for Southwestern. Dayna Wohlgemuth, freshman defender, led the Blue Jays offensively, getting off 5 shots against the Builder defense. There were no shots on goal in the game.

The Builders stay at home for their next game against Bethel College on Oct. 16. It will be the women’s soccer team’s Kick for the Cure game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month and the women will be sporting pink uniforms. The game begins at 5 p.m.
