Conference for the women’s soccer team started with the right foot. They hosted Friends University on Oct. 3 at Richard L. Jantz Stadium.

They won the first conference game and now stand 1-0 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The first goal was an own-goal from the Lady Falcon that changed the scoreboard. This gave the Lady Builders the 1-0 lead during the first half.

Twenty minutes into the second half, freshman forward Joy Reyes, extended the score for the Builders, 2-0. Seven minutes after Reyes’ goal, the Lady Falcons put up one to make the final score 2-1.

During the game the women’s soccer team had 16 shots against 17 from the Lady Falcons. Out of those 16, only seven were on target against nine from Friends.

The women’s soccer team will host Tabor College Oct. 6. The game will be the “Kick for the Cure game” and everybody is encouraged to wear yellow.
