Women’s soccer started off their season the way any team wants to, with a 1-0 record. The Lady Builders stomped Southwestern Assemblies of God University 5-1 Thursday afternoon.

Joy Reyes, sophomore forward, said “I feel like we played really good overall, we started off the season really strong.”

Reyes finished the day with a goal of her own off an assist from Sierra Meyer, junior midfielder.

Not only did freshman midfielder, Katie Frank, score her first goal of her college career, she also scored the first goal for the Lady Builders this season.

“It was a good way to start the season,” said Frank.

This win for the team really sets the tone for the rest of the season.

Allison Totty, junior, said “It shows we can win and actually score goals. This helps us move forward and know that we can work together as a team.”

Southwestern continues their season next Thursday at Newman University, 7 P.M..
