The women’s basketball team dominated Tabor College in the second half of the game Saturday night to beat the Blue Jays 64-51.
The women overcame a first half in which they were outscored 28-20 by Tabor. They more than doubled that in the second half, holding their opponents to only 23 points. Tabor shot 50 percent from the field, but only got off 38 attempts the entire game, compared to SC’s 63 attempts.
One of the biggest factors in the game was the number of offensive rebounds by each side. The Builder women had 20 second attempts, compared to Tabor’s five. Freshman forward Zefiryn Bryan led the women in rebounds with seven—four of them offensive.
The women were led in scoring by Brett Bates, senior guard, with 23. Tylar Hartfield, senior forward, was the only other Builder in double digits with 11.
The women travel to Bethany College Thursday to play the Lady Swedes. This is their last week of regular season play.
