Volleyball shut out the Barclay College Bears Aug. 28 in Haviland, winning three straight sets. The first set went to the Lady Builders as they finished 25-14. The second set was close, with the final score 25-18. For the last set, the Lady Builders won 25-17.

β€œThe Barclay game allowed our team to get our first game jitters out of the way,” said Rachel Vieyra, freshman right side hitter.β€œ It also allowed our very new and young team to get connected with the returning players.”

Vieyra finished with 19 assists. The Builders hit .274 as a team, while the Bears .076 percentage.

The team now has a record of 1-0 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. They will continue their schedule on Aug. 30 when they host College of Saint Mary at Stewart Field House. Their first Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent will be on Sept. 5 at Bethany College in Lindsborg.
