Southwestern College’s volleyball team faced a tough double header Saturday. Their opponent was Missouri Valley College. The team came out energetic and eager to win, but they ended with losses in both games.
The first game, the Builders won one set. Missouri Valley College swept the second game.
“I was extremely proud of my team. We played some of the best volleyball we have played all season,” said Donnie Wallace, head coach.
The two teams have a history. “Missouri Valley beat us the past two years. It was nerve racking coming into the game,” said Taylor Kinnamon, senior middle.
Despite the scoreboard, the Builders attitudes remained positive. “We played really well,” said Kaley Rodriquez, junior defensive specialist.
“We have the toughest week of the season next week. We just have to keep our heads up,” said Wallace.
The Lady Builders will take on Bethel College at 7 p.m. Sept 13 in Stewart Field House.
