The men’s soccer team has two matches in Texas this week. The team will play Dallas Christian College Sept. 1. They will play Southwestern Assemblies of God University two days later on Sept. 3. Last year, the men’s soccer record was 5-13.

Joseph Yeisley, head men’s soccer coach, said the outcome could be anything during the matches in Texas. Twenty-six people are on the team’s roster. “I’m not sure. They’re very hard matches and this year we anticipate obtaining winning record.” said Yeisley.

Ian Blankenship, sophomore defender, said, “I’m not sure how many people are staying on the soccer team. We will do better this year. We focus on the defending and offense in practice.”

Joe Schwartz, junior defender, said the team has worked on a little of everything and focused a lot on awareness in practice “We did not have many players come back to play this year. We have a really talented team this year and have the ability to play well and win the majority of our games,” said Schwartz.
