The Builder tennis teams played their second KCAC matches Thursday, April 10.

The men’s tennis team was held scoreless throughout the whole match losing 9-0. The Builders efforts were not enough to keep up with the No.1 placed Bethany Swedes in the conference.

“Although we were facing a great team, it was good to see some great effort. We look forward to our next match on Saturday,” said Max Manley, business administration senior.

The Lady Builders swept the Swedes in double matches. The first team to pair up was Sara Peck, biology junior, and Tyler Harrell, marine biology senior. Peck and Harrell won their match 9-8. Abby Gengler, business finance junior, and Sadie Pfau, biochemistry freshman, defeated their opponent 8-6. The last team to pair up was Haley Porter, marine biology sophomore, and Hayley Fort, biochemistry senior. They completed the sweep with a 9-8 victory.

Gengler said, “After our exciting doubles sweep, I knew that we had a good chance of winning the match. I believed our girls could do work and we were successful.”

The ladies won overall 5-4.

The tennis teams will continue their schedule on April 12 at Friends University. The matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
