After a streak of seven consecutive victories in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, the men’s basketball team lost. The Tabor College Blue Jays dominated and beat the nationally ranked Builders (14) 80-65 Saturday night in Hillsboro.

The Builders are now 8-2 in the KCAC and 18-3 overall.

Chris Nelson, senior forward, scored 17 points for the Builders. R.J. Jarrett, senior forward, finished with 12 points, and Ethan Randolph, senior forward, ended with 10 points.

The Builders made four out of 17 three-point shots. They also had 14 free throws and made nine of them, finishing 63.6 percent from the foul line.

The first half ended with the Builders 32-31, and by the end of the second half, the Blue Jays scored 49 points to 33 scored by the Builders. This made the final score of 80-65.

“We definitely are capable of playing better and we have to get back to practice and work hard for our two big games this upcoming week,” said Alex Tyler, sophomore guard. “I would say we came out a little sluggish and we missed some easy shots we normally make.”

The Builders will play their next against Sterling College Thursday in Stewart Field House.
