“‘Twas the night before finals”

‘Twas the night before finals, darkness filled SC,
Only one light glowed, the Southwestern Christmas tree.
Students in their dorms, no use for sleep or beds,
They need to spend their time, cremming facts in their heads.

Do not procrastinate, don’t turn on the TV
Resist the urge to watch the holiday episode of Glee.
Study a bit more and then take some rest,
Be ready to wake in the morn and do your best.

One more cup of coffee, you must brew,
Drink up. You know what you must do.
Tomorrow you take your exam,
Just a bit more time to cram.

Try to relax, take a deep breath,
Keep in mind, failure does not bring death.
After finals week, it’s holiday break,
Time to go home, for goodness’ sake.

Have safe travels home, be it by train,
Or by automobile, bus or plane.
We hope you enjoy your wintry season,
Happy holidays from the staff of the Collegian.
