Lady Builder softball brought in the 2014 Conference season on a halfway positive note. Southwestern split with McPherson Tuesday evening.

The first game started off scoreless until the third inning. Allie Flinn, freshman designated player, was the first to cross the plate between the two teams.

Flinn broke the scoring ice and Southwestern retired the third inning up 3-0.

McPherson began to fight back in the fifth but it was not ever enough to conquer Southwestern. The Builders won 6-3.

Game two displayed a different story line for the game. The Builders dug themselves a hole early in the game and were not able to crawl back out of it.

At the end of the third inning the Bulldogs lead 5-0. The Builders struggled at the plate and only hit 4 times.

Southwestern ended the game in a loss, 10-0, starting conference off 1-1. The Builders move to 5-10 overall.

Catch them in action next Saturday afternoon at one and three as they continue conference play against the Warriors of Sterling College.
