The Student Government Association debated whether to allow a transfer student to apply for the position of secretary at their weekly meeting Sept. 25. The applicant transferred this semester, but the constitution states that a student must be at SC for at least a semester before they can apply for such a position.
After much debate, SGA voted to allow the student to apply for the position.
The treasurer presented this year’s estimated budget and reported that this year’s funds are higher than last year’s.
This was followed by a discussion about the issues of the slow internet. SGA members are trying to meet with the school’s internet service provider to discuss the increasingly slow internet.
SGA then discussed the proposed budget for the new Ukulele Society. Members expressed concerns that some of the members may have joined only to receive a free ukulele.
After this, Anastasia Prokopis, president, congratulated the senate on one of their best and most debate filled meetings before they adjourned.
