Lent Image for Blog (1)2

Kyndra Fuqua, English education freshman, drew a series of images to accompany the blog. The drawings are also used during weekly Chapel services.

SC Ministry is continuing to build community within Southwestern particularly during this time of Lent by having a blog called SC Lenten Blog.

SC Lenten Blog is contributed to by students as well as staff and focuses on a scripture passage each day.

The participants are given a couple verses to meditate on and share. Matthew Sigler, campus minister, encourages the writers to get creative.

“My hope would be that people are engaging scripture in an intentional way,” said Sigler.

Sigler says that reading the same scripture with others brings a unique connection and a new purpose to the way we study scripture.

With having people meditating on the same scripture as others, it can open the door to more communication about a central theme and has the ability to show different views on scripture.

The blog will continue to be updated until shortly after Easter. To visit the blog, follow this link http://lentsc.blogspot.com/.
