A poetry slam will take place from 2-4 PM, October 3 in Christy room 20, there will be a Spoken Word/Poetry slam. You can read prepared pieces, classic poems, excerpts or passages. The only requirement to perform is that it includes spoken word. There will be two to three rounds to decide prizes for various categories.
Round 1: 1-2:30
Round 2: 2:45-3:15
Round 3: 3:30-4:00
If you are not the kind of person who likes to perform, you can be a judge.
Michelle Boucher, associate professor of English, said “Each person in the audience will get a chance to vote for the winners of each category. You can stay one round or all if you choose, everyone is welcome.”
The rounds will be broken down between current students and alumni. At 4:15 the winners will be announced for various categories and given prizes.
“Audience or speaker whatever you choice to be. This is a good opportunity to share your work or read a classic,” said by Boucher.
