President Obama stood in the House Chamber Tuesday evening and gave his eighth and final State of the Union Address. While he discussed several issues, such as the national deficit, the criminal justice system and global warming, he also made sure to touch on higher education affordability.
“We’ve already reduced student loan payments to ten percent of a borrower’s income,” said Obama. “Now we’ve actually got to cut the cost of college.”
Obama stated that in order to achieve this reduction in cost, he is willing to fight to provide two years of free community college to responsible students across the nation.
