The men’s tennis team snapped a five-game losing streak and netted its first conference win today with a 6-3 home win over Sterling College.

Jacob Tafoya, computer information systems junior, and Jacob Mires, undeclared sophomore, lost the No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but the men bounced back with no more losses in singles play, and the men won two of the three doubles matches. Jeff Smith, education junior, came up with the first win for the men in No. 3 singles, defeating his opponent 6-2, 2-6 and 6-4.

The men play 0-2 Friends University Thursday in Wichita. Friends comes off of an 8-1 loss to Bethany College, who is undefeated in conference play so far.

The men lost 9-0 to Bethel College Saturday. Bethel is 7-4 overall and undefeated in the conference.
