The Moundbuilder soccer team got smashed Wednesday night by Friends University. They suffered a 10-1 loss.

Going into halftime the score was 5-0. With 22 minutes left in the second half Jordan Garcia, sophomore center mid, scored the one and only goal of the game.

Garcia said “It feels good, trying to get a comeback going.”

Southwestern suffered a tough loss but there were still some good things from the night. Auggie Valadez, sophomore midfield, said the fact that they scored was a positive.

For next their next matchup, the Builders need to step up their game. Valadez said “Attitude going into the game needs to be better, we weren’t prepared.”

Louis Reyes, sophomore midfield, said “The team needs to work harder, train harder and go into the game better prepared.”

Southwestern’s next game is this Saturday at home against Tabor College. Be sure to wear yellow because this game is representing Kick It for the Cure.

The Builder’s record is now 1-8-1 and 0-1 in the KCAC. Friends picked up its first conference win with this game making their record 5-4 and 1-0 in the KCAC.
