Men’s cross country competed in the 57th annual National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Championship race today in Vancouver, Wa.
The men’s team placed 18th out of 31 teams with an overall team time of 2:11:10.
Frank Adelman, psychology senior, placed ninth individually out of 327 male runners with a finishing time of 24:52.
The next two Builder runners that crossed the finish line were Conner Drendel who placed 73rd with a finishing time of 26:07, and Colton McNinch, finishing 97th with a 26:28 final time.
Sam McDaniel finished shortly after with a time of 26:32 and 103rd overall. Eric Anders finished 150th with a final time of 27:11, followed by Eric Lightfoot who placed 156th with a time of 27:18. Trey Bruton rounded out the seven runners placing 159th with a final time of 27:22.
University of St. Francis Fighting Saints claimed the men’s National Championship title with a total team time of 2:06:44.
The women’s 5,000 meter 33rd annual National Championship race took place at 10:30 a.m.
Sydnee Nelson, biochemistry senior, placed 229th individually out of 328 female runners.
British Columbia captured the NAIA National Championship title as a team for the women with a total team time of 1:31:26.
The end of this NAIA National Championship marks the end of it being held at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. The championship will move to Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence for 2013-2014 hosted by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.
