Southwestern men’s basketball team improves to 12-4 on the season with a record of 2-3 in conference play. The game was a nail biter ending 69-66.
Cameron Clark, sophomore forward, led the team with 24 points. Clark also led the boards with 13 rebounds. Alex Tyler, senior guard, assisted his teammates five times to lead both teams in assists.
The score was 28-27 going into halftime with Bethel in front. The Builders outscored the Threshers 42-38 in the second half to assure the win.
The Builders shot 64 percent from the foul line. The team got to the free-throw line 39 times and converted on 25 of their free shots. The Threshers also shot 69 percent from the line, made 16 out of 26 attempts.
Southwestern turned over the ball 12 times throughout the game, eight of them being steals by the Threshers. Bethel had 9 turn overs on the game.
The Builders will continue conference play against Sterling at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Stuart Field House.
