Southwestern’s golf team showed much success earlier this week. The Men won easily by 16 strokes with three golfers finishing their rounds at the top of the leader board. The women also showed success winning by 13 strokes with a second place finish by Courtney Huppert, business marketing junior, and three golfers in the top ten.

Raleigh Hughes, business marketing junior, won the tournament shooting a 74 both days’s finishing four over good enough to win the tournament by three strokes against teammate Jordan Lytton, business administration junior, who shot two over on the final day to clinch his spot in second place. Cale O’Hair shot 11 over for the tournament tying for third.

The women’s team was in third after the first day. Huppert dropped 12 strokes the second day, to make her move from fourth to second. Huppert shot the best round from any woman with a 75 on Tuesday, which helped the team make their move from third to first.

The Men’s shots totaled at 610. They shot a 303 on the first day and a 307 on the second. The Men doubled their lead on Hutchinson Community College on the second day.

The Women’s team shot a 731 overall on the tournament. They were behind the leading, Baker University by 14 strokes, sitting in third place after the first round, and finished the tournament 13 strokes ahead of Baker.
