The Lady Builders’ four-in-a-row winning streak was snapped Saturday, Jan. 17 against the Threshers of Bethel in a close battle by a score of 64-58.

The Moundbuilders traveled to North Newton inside the Thresher Gymnasium. The game started at 5 p.m.

The lady builders led at the half 34-26. They continued to hold the lead for the rest of the majority of the half. By the 1:26 mark in the second half, Southwestern’s lead was cut to just two, 58-56.

Back to back turnovers and clutch free-throws at the last minute of the game allowed the Threshers to solidify the win.

The Moundbuilders barely outshot the Threshers, 38.9% to 38.3% from the floor, respectively. The Builders out rebounded the Threshers, too, 39-37.

The lady builders next game is Wednesday Jan. 21  against the Kansas Wesleyan University Coyotes at Stewart Field House. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
