The Lady Builder basketball team bounced back Friday night with a win over Doane College. The game was a rematch from earlier in the season, with Southwestern coming out on top 76-62. Doane won the first matchup on their home court in the first game of the season 65-51.

After a slow start, the Lady Builders jumped out to a comfortable 42-25 halftime lead. Doane came out strong in the second half and cut the lead to 48-40 with 13:51 to go, but that was as close as they got. Southwestern closed out the game to end a two game losing streak.

Zefiryn Bryan, junior forward, had one of her best performances this season, putting up 19 points for the Builders. Jana Reichenberger, freshman forward, also had 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Though Southwestern only hit 34.3 percent of their shots, they capitalized on 29 turnovers committed by Doane.

The Lady Builders open up their conference schedule against Friends University at 6 p.m. Thursday in Stewart Field House.
