Lady Builder softball started their fall season on a low note Wednesday afternoon. The team dropped a double header to Cowley Community College.

This being the first game and with a new team the ladies were pretty happy about the way they played.

“I thought we played really well. We played together as a team,” said Paige Rothwell, junior infielder.

The first game of the double header came down to the last inning.

The score was tied at 5 in the bottom of the seventh with the Tigers up to bat. Cowley managed to hit in the one run that they needed to take the game from the Builders.

The second game was a solid display of offense. Cowley Tigers ruled the Builders in the sixth inning, 18-11.

The team still has plenty of kinks to work out before their next go round.

“Defense and communication on and off the field,” said Taylor Easum, junior infielder.

The team has big goals for this season. Rachel Baker, junior pitcher, said “We’re going to win the KCAC.”
