The Lady Builders basketball team continues to improve as the season moves on. The Lady Builders climbed three spots in week’s five NAIA Division II Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
Ranked 22nd last week, the women’s basketball team went up to the 19th spot after a two-win streak. The Ottawa Lady Braves were defeated by five points on Jan. 10, and the Bethel Lady Threshers followed with a final 72-57 score for the Lady Builders two days after.
The team holds the record 12-5 in the NAIA and 7-1 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. They obtained 124 points in the poll. College of Idaho follows the Lady Builders with three points less.
The women’s basketball team will host Saint Mary tonight at 6 p.m. and then will travel to Wichita to face Friends University Lady Falcons on Jan. 16.
The Lady Builders still have one month of play games before entering playoffs for a place to represent the KCAC in the NAIA national championship. The final is set to be at Park City’s Hartman Arena Monday Feb. 25 at 6 p.m.
Indiana Wesleyan is still ranked number one with 343 points, followed by Concordia of Neb. with 332.
The sixth regular-season Top 25 poll will be announced on Jan. 22.
