In the fourth home game Southwestern vs Kansas Wesleyan won 0-3. Each of these games both teams kept high energy with a strong start and end.

“We did not play as well as we should have. Kansas Wesleyan is a very good team. We started out playing hard, but we were not able to keep that up,” said Carolina Garbato, head volleyball coach.

In the first set Southwestern took an early lead but could not keep it. Kansas Wesleyan fought to take the lead evening the score. As the game when on Southwestern pushed to get caught up but couldn’t, losing 15-25.

In the last two sets the scores were 15-25 and 11-25. Each game southwestern started out strong leaving the score neck in neck. Kansas Wesleyan had to fight for each point.

Even through the loss, some strong plays were made.

“Abby Warnke and Hanna House hit the highest team percentage, combining 9 kills and only 1 error,” Garbato said.

One thing was clear, Southwestern kept a positive attitude during the game. Never giving up and making the other team fight for their points.

The next game will be an away game at 1:30 p.m. against Friends University on Sept. 20.
