A hard fought battle failed to end in the Builder’s favor. Their fate ended in an 95-82 loss to Kansas Wesleyan on Saturday night in the second round of the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The women’s final season record was 22-7 overall and 14-4 in conference play.

The Lady Builders stayed with Kansas Wesleyan through most of the game. The teams went into the locker rooms at halftime with the Lady Builders behind the Coyotes 44-46.

Free throw shooting determined the game. The Lady Builders shot 64.5 percent from line, but the Lady Coyotes would out shoot the Builders by making 76.5 percent from the line.

It was a tough fought game. The Builders shot 43.5 percent from the field, and 33.3 percent beyond the arc.

Tyler Hartfield, senior forward, had one of her best games of the season, leading led the Builders with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Brett Bates, junior guard, contributed with 17 points, and Jordyn Cossman, junior guard, followed scoring 13 points.

The loss solidified the team at third in the conference.
