No. 11 ranked Lady Builders started with the right foot the conference play by defeating St. Mary Lady Spires.

The Lady Builders ran over the Lady Spires 76-68. The Lady Builders outscored St. Mary 43-25 in the first half, but fell short 43-33 in the second half.

As a team, Southwestern outshot the Lady Spires with a 39 percent of shots made from the paint.  The Lady Builders made 11 out of 36 shots from long range and 13 from 27 free throws.

Sheri Zoglmann, senior guard, led the Lady Builders in points with 13. Zefiryn Bryan, senior forward, was the top rebounder for the night with eight boards. Montana Rickey, junior forward, had the most assists with fours.

With the win, the Lady Builders now stand 1-0 in the KCAC and 8-1 overall.

The Lady Builders will prepare for their second conference play on Saturday hosting Friends University. Tip-off is scheduled at 5 p.m. in Stewart Field House.
