After losing their last two games, the Lady Builders came out on top against the Braves Saturday in Ottawa 70-55. This helped the Builder’s mov to 8-4 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference, and 15-6 overall. They maintain third place in the KCAC standings, one win ahead of fourth place Bethel College.

They women were on top throughout the entire game and never gave the Ottawa a chance to catch up. The Builders went into the halftime leading with a score of 32-27.

After halftime Southwestern took the game away from Ottawa. The Builders hit 41.8 percent from the field, and 46.2 from the three-point range. The Braves did outshoot the Builders from the line 67.9 percent to 63.2 percent.

Brett Bates, junior guard, led the Lady Builders with 15 points. Jasmine Manuel, senior forward, was the second highest scorer with 12 points. Manuel also had four rebounds, and shot 4-7 from the three point range.

Builders have another opportunity to move up in the KCAC standings when they play Bethel College on Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. Bethel is one game behind them in the standings.
