The Lady Builder soccer team traveled to Dallas, Texas on Sept. 1. They were scheduled to play two games Labor Day weekend.

The first game they played Dallas Christian College and won 5-0. The second was against Southwestern Assemblies of God University, ending with a 2-1 victory in favor of the Lady Builders.

The team was scheduled to drive Sept. 3 afternoon and get back later that night. Due to mechanical problems with the SC cruiser, they had to stay another night. They stayed at Comfort Suites hotel.

“The engine made a funny noise and died at the light before the FC Dallas stadium,” said Moncia Gamez, freshman defender.

The Lady Builder team got to go to a professional soccer game between FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders at Pizza Hut Park. The stadium is located in Frisco, Texas. Head men’s soccer coach, Joe Wood, rented a van for in the meantime to move the players.

Parts for the cruiser are expected to be there Sept. 4. The Lady Builders will drive back that same evening and is expected for them to arrive in the night. 14 players are still in Dallas.
