Amy Pierson, nursing junior, is the KCAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Pierson finished first in the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational in a field of 65 runners with a time of 18:36, 1:18 ahead of the second-place finisher. Pierson has been the top runner for the Southwestern women this season.
Andrew Topham, biology junior, is the KCAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week. Topham finished second in the Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational in a field of 64 runners with a time of 25:52 in the 8,000 M course. Southwestern finished in second place out of six full teams.
Kim Kellogg, sophomore libero, was named the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Libero/Defensive Specialist of the Week for Oct. 5-11. Kellogg had 44 digs in seven games last week, averaging 6.29 digs per game. Kellogg is currently second in the conference in the number of digs per set, with an average of 4.9. The team went 2-0 last week against conference opponents McPherson College and Kansas Wesleyan University before losing to Friends University in three games Monday evening. The women are ranked eighth in the conference.
