It is the time of year for students to start making decisions for next school year, like housing. The college has implemented a “Same Room” sign-up, and a “New Room” sign-up.

Seniors that will be returning and want the same room must reserve that room first, regardless if it is a private suit, have returning roommates or have new roommates joining. The new roommates must sign up for the room through the “New Room” selection. The sign-up day for returning seniors is April 2, each day following will be the next class’s day to sign-up.

The rooms that are available following the “Same Room” sign-ups will be giving out on a first come first serve basis according to class. Seniors have top priority, juniors follow then sophomores and freshman.

The reasoning behind this change is that the college will renovate 15 private rooms into doubles. Sutton Hall has six doubles available, Reid hall has one studio available, and Broadhurst has eight private rooms left.

“I would tell any student before you make your choice” Sarah Hallinan, assistant dean of students, explained “To talk to financial aid and see what the best option is for you.”

The housing plans all come with an option to add a meal plan of your choosing. Hallinan will be set up in the Java Jinx Feb. 26-28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to answer any questions.
