Following a strong performance in the J.K. Gold Classic hosted by Wichita State this weekend, Jennifer Hendrixson, business administration senior, and Frank Adelman, biology junior, are the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Runners of the Week.

Hendrixson took the women’s runner of the week, finishing with a time of 15:33 in the 4K race. She was 26th of 121 runners at the meet and first on the Southwestern team. She was also second in the College/JUCO division at Saturday’s meet and was the first National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics finisher in the race.

Adelman finished fifth in the men’s race out of 135 runners. His time for the 6K race was 19:17, which allowed him to finish third in the College/JUCO division and first amongst NAIA runners.

Hendrixson’s and Adelman’s efforts pushed both the men’s and the women’s teams to second place finishes at the race, which took place at Raft Golf Course in Augusta.
