The men’s golf team opened their spring season at Elks Country Club in Salina. The Swede Invitational was hosted by Bethany College. There were eleven teams participating at the meet.

Southwestern Builders finished first in the meet with 594 hits, 30 hits more than it was set to be. This placed them in the first position, being in top of other teams such as Bethany who finished second and Kansas Wesleyan finishing third.

Raleigh Hughes, senior, finished second individually with 143 points, leaving him with a final score of +2, two hits more than it was set 141. Jordan Lytton, senior and Tim Jasper, senior, finished third and fourth respectively scoring +8.

Shane Gilbert, freshman, was placed in 11th place with three more athletes from Bethel, Bethany and Central Christian. Chad Richardson, junior, made to the 19th spot with 20 more hits. And Jake Henson, freshman, finished 51 out of 79.

The Builders will continue their season on March 11, when they travel to Forth Worth, Texas to participate in the Texas Wesleyan University Hawks Creek Golf Course.
