The 3rd annual Mound of Sound Marching Festival took place on Tuesday at Richard L. Jantz Stadium. The event was hosted by Jeremy Kirk, director of bands and percussion, and the SC band and percussion ensembles. Over 1,000 high school students from 12 schools participated in the festival.

Listed below are the final results from the competition:
Class 1 Best in Class: Dexter (Kan.)
Class 2 Best in Class: Pratt (Kan.)
Class 3 Best in Class: Goddard (Kan.)
Class 4 Best in Class: Enid (Okla.)

Outstanding Drum Major: Enid
Outstanding Color Guard: Enid
Outstanding Percussion: Enid
2nd Runner-Up: Goddard
Runner-Up: Ponca City
2016 Grand Champion (reigning champions): Enid
