After an upset for the No. 23 ranked Builders on the basketball court Thursday against Friends, the Builders fell to the No. 4 ranked McPherson College Bulldogs Saturday, 84-71. The Builders drop to 19-6 overall and 9-6 in conference play.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the first half. The Builders fell early in the half 26-16. They never came closer to the Bulldogs and trailed by 15 going into the locker room, 46-31. The Builders came out the second half aggressive and cut the lead to nine right off the bat. Unfortunately that was the closest the Builders came to the Bulldogs.
As a team the Builders shot 38 percent from the field. The Builders shot well at the line, hitting 77 percent.
Chris Nelson, senior forward, led the Builders with 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Ethan Randolph, senior forward, added another 14 points. The Builders never found luck behind the three-point line, not hitting any of their nine attempts.
The Builders travel to Salina to face the Coyotes, who have yet to win a game in conference play. The game tips off at 8 p.m. Thursday.
