The Men’s soccer team began conference falling short at Friends University, Friday 1-0.
“We expected them to be good, but we are just as good as they were,” said Cristian Mendoza, sophomore defender. “We just would have liked a better result.”
James Carter, junior defender said losing to Friends was a tough loss.
“We had one slip up on the defensive end and that cost us,” said James. “We had a chance or two on offense, but weren’t able to finish.”
Carter also said he felt the Falcons played with a high amount of pressure.
“That forces us to do a few things differently than what we normally would,” he said.
Mendoza said the Builders didn’t play their usual game.
“We didn’t play our game, which is possession. We kept trying to play those long balls, which isn’t our style,” said Mendoza.
The Builder’s will travel to Sterling College, Wednesday as they look to take on the Warriors and their first conference win.
“We just need to work on playing our style of soccer,” said Mendoza.
The Builders start off conference 0-1.
“The team as a whole put out a great effort and we know when we play to our potential we can compete with the best teams in our conference,” said Carter.
