The driver of the vehicle in a rollover accident on Warren Avenue last night was arrested for DUI. Jeremy Higgs, 26, was booked into the Cowley County Jail on the charges and later released on a $750 bond, according to the Cowley County Jail inmate list.

A Winfield Police Department spokesperson said that the non-injury accident was still being investigated. Higgs was driving the truck that overturned last night around 11:30 p.m. and came to rest upside down in between Cole Hall and Wallingford Hall on Warren Avenue. There were no other passengers in his vehicle.

Both the Winfield Police Department and Cowley County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene.

A one-vehicle accident occurred on Warren Ave. around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. A truck was left overturned, but no one was seriously injured in the accident, bystanders said.

The driver was the only one in the vehicle, which came to rest in between Cole Hall and Wallingford Hall. It is unknown whether alcohol played a role in the accident.
