The first game of the three-game series went to the Builders as they defeated the Avila Eagles 7-3 at the Broadway Sports Complex on Good Friday.

Donovan McMullen, senior infielder, said, “We all felt good from the start. We all trust each other and know what we’re capable of as a team. It was good to see it come together.”

Lance Christenberry, senior pitcher, earned the win on the mound for the Builders. He pitched and struck out many opponents.

“For me, it was my consistency in the zone and being able to allow my defense behind me to make plays for me,” Christenberry said.

Kevin Frady, head baseball coach, said, “We won 7-3. It started a little slow, and then we had outstanding relief pitching by Christenberry that just gave us a chance to separate from the Eagles a bit. Jason “Sparky” Bray had two doubles; Taite Saldana and Donovan McMullen had doubles. Ethan White scored a couple of runs. It was a good game, and we are ready to go back out there and play the Eagles again.”

The Builder Baseball team plays a doubleheader on April 3 at home against the Avila Eagles starting at 1 p.m.
