It’s Bluegrass which means, it is time for another Leadership garage sale. The sale runs Sept. 13 to Sept. 15. It will be at 1120 East 9th Street, just two blocks away from El Maguey’s. The hours for Thursday through Friday are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday the hours are shorter, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The garage sale is to help the members of Leadership to pay for their service learning trip.

“This year our service learning trip is an unknown location in Kansas,” said Lindsey Wilke, Assistant Director of Leadership. Last year the Leadership team went overseas.
Whatever money that they do not use for their service trip will be used for the following year. The Leadership also has different fundraisers that are to help pay for the trip. They have four major fundraisers: the garage sale, homemade apple pie sales in November, Roses in the Rafters in February, and a road race in April.

To get the stuff to sell in the sale, the Leadership members donate some of their stuff that they no longer want.
“Staff, community members, and other students are also allowed to donate anything that they don’t want,” said Kaley Rodriguez, elementary education junior.
Anyone is also able to help out with the sale anyway possible. With set up and working it on various days and hours all you have to do is talk to one of the Leadership members.

“This year we have a lot of different items that have been donated. This year we are also selling lemonade,” said Sally McGuire, liberal arts and science junior.
Lindsey Wilke said, “Thank you to SC for your support with the sale.”
