The Lady Builders cross country team ended nine out of 20 teams in the 5k run. Oklahoma Baptist finished first for the women’s race. Rogers State and Central Methodist University followed. Southwestern College women team finished after Oklahoma City University with a total of 250 points. The total time was 1:40:44.32 for the Lady Builders.

Sydnee Nelson, senior, ended 14 with a time of 19:01.71. Kelsey Buffum, freshman, followed Nelson in the 40 spot with the numbers of 19:39.99. Cassie Hollenback, freshman, was the third Lady Builder to finish. Maddie Chapin, junior, and Wendee Harris, freshman, ended 74 and 99 respectively. There were a total of 167 runners from 20 different schools.

For the men’e race, Frank Adelman, senior, ended second. Adelman lead the Builders throughout the race until the last 100 meters where he lost the lead to Adam Godwin, Oklahoma Baptist University junior. Adelman was the first Builder to finish the race. Colton McNinch, junior, followed Adelman in the seventh spot. Conner Drender, master of education, finished in the 32nd place with a time of 26:08.51.Eric Lightfoot, sophomore and Sam McDaniel, junior, ended 44 and 45. Junior, Trey Burton, had a time of 27:00.17 leaving him 64 in the meet. Eric Anders, junior, finished 87, and Nick Warnke, sophomore, finished 91.

The men’s team acquired fourth place in the 8k meet with an overall time of 2.09:04.97. Oklahoma Baptist University ended first followed by Wayland Baptist and Oklahoma Christian University.

Cross country teams will continue to prepare for the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The KCAC Championship will be on Nov. 3 at Ottawa.
