A second half goal by Lisa Nguyen, sophomore defender, helped the Friends University Falcons overcome the Lady Builders Friday in Wichita. It was the opening Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference game for both schools.

The loss dropped Southwestern to 1-8 on the season and to last place in the KCAC standings.

Friends dominated the game offensively, totalling 19 shots and 12 shots on goal. Lindsay Geddes, sophomore forward, led the Falcons with seven shots and five shots on goal through the game.

The Builders were not as productive and got off just six shots and four shots on goal. Maddie Chapin, freshman defender, finished the game with three shots and two shots on goal. Both Nicole Resa, freshman midfielder, and Morgan Constantine, junior defender, had a shot on goal as well.

Despite the Falcon’s one goal, Danielle Carr, senior goalie, played well, totaling six saves on the night. Carr played in the goalie position throughout the entire game.

Southwestern’s next game will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sterling College, who are currently 5-4-1 overall and 0-0-1 in the KCAC.
